We hear a lot of talk about creativity but why is it so important? Why does someone want to have creativity in the first place? You don’t have to be an artist, poet or musician to make the most of creativity. Anyone, no matter how young or old or what your walk in life, can make use of creativity.
Being creative involves a little something more; something extra aside from just thinking about what you must do. Being creative involves looking deeper, feeling what your gut is telling you and taking a risk by thinking outside of the box. You will feel enlightened and empowered when you learn to use your creativity to stand out from the crowd.
Life can become dull and boring and it’s easy to get caught up in the mundane tasks of day to day life. When you have creativity, you can avoid these situations and always maintain a fresh edge on whatever you do.
Nurturing your creativity is an asset in all areas of your life. You don’t have to be a dreamer to benefit from creativity. You can enjoy the joys of a creative spirit in all that you do. Think about your job. What do you do on a daily basis? There is no profession that couldn’t benefit in some way from a little more creativity. Think about the ways in which you would be able to do your job better if you were more creative.
Are you a parent? How many kids do you have? Think a moment about how different you would be as a parent if you could find a little more creativity. You could play with your child in a whole new way. You could remember what it feels like to be a child yourself. You can enjoy the great times like you did when you were young and make unique memories with your own children.
This is just the beginning of the ways that creativity can help all aspects of your life. Think about your hobbies and pastimes and things you do with your friends. Is there something you’ve always wanted to learn to do but feared you couldn’t or that you were too old now to learn? Creativity can break you from those chains.
Creativity is a gift. It’s a gift that we are all born with but that many of us must make a conscious effort to remember we have and remember to nurture it and help it grow over the years as we grow older. Now that you can see how important it is to have creativity, be sure to work toward maintaining and expanding your own.
